Satellite dishes from Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria

An interesting business was to export dishes to Middle East.
For C-Band you needed large dishes and for Ku-Band small dishes.
Large dishes were made from aluminium and small dishes were iron.

High quality 1,8 meter dishes were manufactured in Ukraine, sold in Romania by Abacus, enough cheap to be exported.

1 USD was 1800 lei, so an aluminium 1.8 meter dish with polar mount was 183 USD w/o VAT

Other source of large size dishes was Bulgaria, a consequence of my visit to Cable & Satellite Plovdiv.

Small dished were from BETACOM Budapest, from Miklos Henyel. This supplier was found by me in the German TELE SATELLIT magazine, advertising section.
I also visited the Cable & Satellite exhibition from Budapest with Margescu from Fetesti.
BETACOM duty free prices were good, 17.5 / 29 / 33 USD for 0.9 / 1.1 / 1.2 meter offset dishes.

COMTEC ordered containers of dishes...

Cable & Satellite Plovdiv 1994

In 1994 m-a trimis dl. Carol Kainnan sa promovez produsele COMTEC 2000 la Plovdiv.
Am avut cataloage COMTEC.

Bulgarii importau direct, n-aveau nevoie de COMTEC.
Am zis sa nu ma fac de ras fatza de Carol si am luat mai multe pliante cu antene de satelit.
Carol cauta antene pentru Arabsat.
In prima faza luase antene ucrainiene de la Abacus.
I-am gasit mai multi furnizori.
Am facut apoi turul Bulgariei - Ruse - Shumen - Veliko Tarnovo - pasul Shipka - Stara Zagora -
Plovdiv - Peshtera - Sofia si retur prin Plevna.

Carol a luat containere de antene pentru Tzara Fagaduintzei.
Harta de 100 Leva

Aceeasi figura am repetat-o in Ungaria 1995 si Serbia 1997. Postari viitoare.
